One relationship. Two components.
Planning sets the strategy. Management carries it out. Here is exactly how that works, from the first call onward.
The way we work with clients is straightforward. There is a planning component and a management component. Planning covers your financial strategy: equity compensation decisions, tax planning and annual reviews. Management is where we actively run your portfolio to execute that strategy. Most clients do both, because a strategy without execution is just a document.
Where most clients start: the Equity Strategy Engagement
A focused project, 4 to 8 weeks, built around your equity compensation, tax situation and investment picture.
- Kickoff call to map your full picture: tax returns, equity grants, account structure and priorities
- Strategy session where we walk through tax scenarios, equity recommendations and investment consolidation
- Follow-up Q&A session once you have had time to read
- A written strategy deliverable within five business days of the strategy session, with a clear action plan
It works as a standalone project, and it is the natural first step before an ongoing relationship.
The ongoing relationship
Ongoing clients engage on both planning and investment management, so the strategy and the portfolio are run from the same picture.
- Year one: about six meetings while we build the full plan and put your investment strategy in place
- Year two onward: four structured meetings a year, timed to key planning moments such as vests, year-end and tax projections
- Between meetings: email access for time-sensitive questions and life changes, with defined response windows
- When your situation changes: a job move, an acquisition, a tender offer or a relocation triggers a fresh look at your model, your withholding and your allocation
What you can expect, step by step
- Intro call. 30 minutes, free. We discuss your priorities and whether our strengths match your needs.
- Discovery session. If we both see a fit, we hold a data-discovery session before any agreement is signed.
- Document request. Your two most recent tax returns, current pay stubs, equity compensation details (RSU schedules, ISO or NSO grant agreements, ESPP details) and recent account statements, uploaded through a secure client portal. You do not need to organize anything first.
- Analysis. In the following weeks we build your custom model and stress-test scenarios. You are not asked to do anything during this stretch.
- Strategy presentation and written plan. A dedicated session, then your written deliverable within five business days.
- Implementation. For ongoing clients, portfolio implementation and management begin once the project closes. We coordinate with your CPA or estate attorney, or help you find one.
Who this is for
This is for you if:
- You work in tech, finance or business leadership and your compensation includes RSUs, ISOs, NSOs or ESPP
- You have accounts across several employers and providers with no strategy connecting them
- You do your own research and want structured, expert guidance, not open-ended hand-holding
- You are facing a specific decision: a large tax bill, a new grant, an approaching vest or an ISO exercise
This may not be the right fit if:
- You want someone to take over your finances with no involvement on your side
- You are comfortable with your current setup and want only a quick second opinion on a single account
- Your finances are straightforward and a lower-cost, automated service already covers them
Business owners are considered case by case.

Tax preparation is available as a relationship service for ongoing advisory clients.
